We are seeking a Risk Operations Analyst ("Risk Ops Analyst") to support and manage workflows for all things related to credit and loan servicing. This is an exciting opportunity to join as Gynger's first dedicated credit ops hire where you get to define the role for the first time.
In this role, you will play a vital role in credit operations focused on cross-functional collaboration with both GTM and the technical teams to execute in the technical aspects of loan servicing, credit approval and re-approval process, and creation/maintenance of appropriate reporting functions. To be successful in this role you will have some background in finance or risk, be a creative problem-solver with a skill for navigating systems, and an eye for detail. Additionally, you will be in a highly technical and innovative fintech environment which may require hands-on skills with various systems.
You will sit on the Credit Team and report directly to our Head of Credit Risk. Since this position will be closely aligned with sales, this role will be based out of our NYC HQ (where our sales team is located).
In this position you will...
Execute on all technical and execution-focused aspects of loan servicing including loan modifications, collections, and billing.
Review credit approvals and re-approvals to ensure a seamless process for our clients. Tasks include reviewing and analyzing data and having a thorough understanding of our credit policies.
Build and/or maintain all appropriate reports to be reviewed by both internal (executive management, GTM Team, etc.) and external stakeholders (investors, clients, etc.).
Partner with GTM and technology teams to properly execute on this position.
Showcase your attention to detail by ensuring all details - whether in the approval, servicing, or reporting process - are correctly captured.
Use your inquisitive mindset to identify (and possibly fix) possible areas of improvements including app functionality, control gaps, and process to effectively mitigate risk.
Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in credit operations, loan servicing, or a similar role within the financial services or risk industry.
Experience with various systems and data sources including BI, SQL, and low-code environments will be a very big plus.
Ideally a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or a related field.
Ideally some proficiency in using credit analysis tools and/or some familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to credit operations.
Target Compensation: $60,000 - 80,000/year base
