About Alembic

Alembic is pioneering a revolution in marketing, proving the true ROI of marketing activities. The Alembic Marketing Intelligence Platform applies sophisticated algorithms and AI models to finally solve this long-standing problem. When you join the Alembic team, you’ll help build the tools that provide unprecedented visibility into how marketing drives revenue, helping a growing list of Fortune 500 companies make more confident, data-driven decisions.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Site Reliability & Security Engineer to help Alembic scale a reliable and secure platform at the intersection of AI, analytics, and enterprise SaaS. You’ll be a foundational member of the infrastructure team—owning systems reliability, observability, and cloud security as we grow our data-intensive platform.

In this dual role, you’ll both operate high-performance infrastructure and implement security controls that meet the standards of our most demanding enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, automate, and maintain infrastructure for real-time analytics and machine learning workloads

  • Implement cloud security best practices (IAM, encryption, VPC architecture, secrets management) across AWS

  • Drive initiatives for compliance readiness (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.) and internal security audits

  • Drive observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response workflows across the platform

  • Partner with engineering and data teams to ensure systems are resilient, performant, and secure by default

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated security checks and deployment safeguards

  • Lead infrastructure threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and security incident response

  • Educate and empower developers to follow secure coding and deployment practices

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles with security responsibilities

  • Strong experience with AWS services and cloud-native security (IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, Security Hub, etc.)

  • Proficient in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform and Ansible) and CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Argo, etc.)

  • Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS)

  • Familiarity with security frameworks and controls for SaaS environments (SOC 2, NIST, CIS Benchmarks)

  • Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, Bash, etc.)

  • Experience with compliance audits or enterprise security reviews

  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience managing security in data pipelines and ML platforms (e.g., Airflow, Spark, Kafka)

  • Familiarity with security automation tooling (e.g., Trivy, Snyk, Falco, or Open Policy Agent)

  • Knowledge of zero-trust networking, secrets rotation, and runtime security for containers

What You’ll Get

  • A unique opportunity to shape the security and reliability of a data-driven, enterprise-scale SaaS product

  • Visibility into every layer of a rapidly growing infrastructure

  • The chance to work alongside high-caliber engineers, scientists, and product leaders

  • A culture of ownership, curiosity, and execution

Why Join Alembic?

  • High-impact role: Shape the future of our data platform at an early-stage startup.

  • Growth opportunities: Work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to take on new challenges.

  • Collaborative culture: Join a team of passionate, skilled engineers and technologists.

  • Competitive compensation: Including salary, equity, and benefits.

Compensation Range: $218K - $240K
